Muncie–Arnold E. Childress, Sr., 68, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. He was born January 15, 1945 in Muncie, Indiana to Cleveland and Estella Childress. Arnold was the youngest of their four children.
Arnold graduated from Muncie Southside in 1963. Arnold retired from Delco Battery after more than 30 years of employment.
Arnold is survived by his sons, Arnold (Beanie) and Arthur (Tokey) Childress; grandchildren, Jasmine, Arnold III (Trey), Steven, Asia, and Jordan Childress, Lauren Williams, and Maliek Maldonado; sister, Doris Miller (Ira); special friends, Arthur (Poochie) Morgan and Bill Moore; and a host of family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland and Estelle Childress; and brothers, Curtis and Cammie Childress.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, September 28, 2013 at TrinityUnitedMethodistChurch, 1210 South Hackley Street, Muncie, IN 47302, with calling from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Arrangements by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory.

I am so sorry about your families lost. I wish I had known sooner. Arnold was like a big brother to me. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers. Billy and Arnold were very close friends and he was apart of the Baker family.

Arnold will be deeply missed. The many times you came to our families house and you and Billy were best pals along with Larry Hammond.
